The group was set up in 2011 as a 'pathway' for new or novice runners and joggers, into the wider local running community. It's aim was to provide other groups in the area with a steady stream of new runners. At the same time, it has also gained a growing number of regular attendees, happy to remain running predominently with the Group. The Group has also been of use to people training towards a “Race for Life” or similar events. Nevertheless, the aim of the group remains to simply encourage an enjoyment of running in a social and friendly atmosphere, with a focus on new runners.
Runblandford is affilliated to England Athletics.
The group doesn't have a 'minimum standard'. However, to fully take part and enjoy the sessions (which is important!), we would suggest that a good starting point is to already be able to slow jog for 2 minutes then walk for 1 minute, five times in succession.
This is a FREE to join group, please see the Contact Details at the top of this page for our meeting times. Click the MEMBERSHIP tab for a joining form.
